Getting By With Humor
Most mothers know those early days with babies
at home can be both stressful and humorous.
Groton writer Kathryn S. Mahoney has tapped
into that mindset to write her new book, Cracked
at Birth: One Madcap Mom's Thoughts on Motherhood,
Marriage & Burnt Meatloaf. The book
is a compilation of 60 columns called, "Sunny
Side Up," that Mahoney has written over
the last four years for Nashoba Publishing in
Devens and for two Web sites, CrackedatBirth.com
and SanityCentral.com. Her work has
also appeared in a parenting anthology, Misadventures
of Moms and Disasters of Dads. "The
goal of the book is to allow the reader to just
sit back, put their feet up, and take some time
out to just laugh," Mahoney said.
