Maine-Endwell grad publishes book of humor columns

BINGHAMTON, NY -- Kathryn Mahoney, formerly Kathryn Baumberger of Johnson City, and graduate of the Maine-Endwell class of 1982, has published her first humor book, Cracked at Birth: One Madcap Mom's Thoughts on Motherhood, Marriage & Burnt Meatloaf (Mom-Writers Publishing Cooperative, a subsidiary of Wyatt-MacKenzie Publishing, Inc.).

Cracked at Birth isa compilation of 60 of Mahoney's best humor columns that she has written over the past four years for Nashoba Publishing, a newspaper publisher located near Mahoney's current home in Groton, Mass. Her column has been featured on a number of parenting Web sites as well as in another parenting anthology, Misadventures of Moms and Disasters of Dads.

In Mahoney's book, she offers a glimpse of her life as a wife and mother sharing everything from the first time her superhero sons, Underwear Man and Deaper Boy, appeared in her living room to the traumatic kitchen renovation she equates to the pain and joy of childbirth. There's even a column about her 20th Maine-Endwell High School reunion called, "Gee You Haven't Changed a Bit."

Her book is available at her Web site, www.CrackedatBirth.com, for $12.95. It can also be ordered from Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, and from some area bookstores.
